Many of you, my friends and family, are already aware of my granddaughter, Lindsey Ella, and her diagnosis of Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis at the age of three years old. Needless to say, it was dreadfully difficult to see our little angel with horrible joint pain which moved about freely in her little body, from neck to knees, from feet to shoulders. All the while, Lindsey endured through monthly blood tests and six different (and very toxic) drugs for well over two years before finally going into a two year remission. Lindsey is turning 9 years old on August 28, is preparing for third grade, and is back on a drug program for the returned onset of joint pain.
Our entire family is ever hopeful and continues to fund-raise in many different venues in the belief that research into this cruel disease, which afflicks almost 300,000 children in this country, will one day have a cure found!!

My daughter, Kelley (Lindsey's Mommy), and I will be participating in a National Arthritis Fund Raiser in Florida on January 11, 2009. Believe me when I tell you, if this old body can walk over 26 miles (my last marathon was 10 years ago) in the sincere belief that we can all make a difference, then I believe you can help make this difference by sending a tax deductible donation!!
